According to reports reaching us the Tamil language radio station that commenced testing a few days ago on FM 99.6 is operated by Voice of Asia Networks, the same people who operate Siyatha FM & Real Radio.
Some DJ's from Sooriyan FM are also said to have joined the station which is expected to be called Vetri FM and will operate round the clock. The official launch is expected in a few weeks time.

E! is said to be introduced in the Dialog Sat. TV 4th transponder. Possibly some other channels from here will also turn up on satellite.

ReplyDelete103.6 FM will be launching on 7th March 2008.It's name will be "SATH FM".United telecom lanka(Pvt) Ltd has most powerful location to broadcast it (from Jaic hilton towers) and it covers Colombo,Gampaha & Kalutara.After one month it will broadcast from Magalkanda by 98.1 FM. then they covers 60% of SL population density.

Tamil Channel - they are transmitting it from Ratmalana but there may be some problems or may not transmit with a high power.

ReplyDeleteABC network is going to resume their channels again (HIru, Sha, Sun, Gold & Sooriyan) soon. they may start all programs most probably by the end of this month. If that happens our FM range will be crowded.

ReplyDeleteThere is another NEW SINHALA FM had registerd as "Sumathi FM" Its owns by mr.Thilanga Sumathipala.TRC spoksman says It will coming on end of this year.They got five FM frequencies by Governenment for cover the hole island.Their Colombo freq. will be 96.1 MHz.

There is lot of Web radio & only few people are listening to web radio .I will tel few words about my radio . It wil be some times Commercial free& my plan is to Promote more Old hits songs .There are no programs. only songs( Pls note that iam not giong to copy any radio station) ok .
