The Curious Case of MTV Sports

Well a couple of days ago, MTV Sports suddenly reverted back to the original MTV logo that they used in days gone by. The Sports part was dropped, on-screen graphics were changed to reflect this change. The channel which touted itself as a sports channel after CSN launched a few year ago, was more of a GEC than a sports channel.

They were really never successful at acquiring sports content, in fact CSN had better sports content than MTV Sports. A run of the mill retransmission deal with Neo Sports resulted in a few Golf & Football content, non of which was "LIVE". The channel of course showcased the Olympic events together with it's sister channels, they of course telecast more less the same content that a few other channels broadcast "live".

With many sports content up for grabs like "Formula 1", etc the channel never really was interested in these. The final nail in the coffin maybe the failure to acquire the cricketing rights that was up for bidding.

It's interesting however that the channels, Facebook page & Website have not been updated & continue with the old "MTV Sports" logo. It's quite clear that internal communication is virtually non existent at the channel & looks like the administrators do not watch the channel & this has been a decision taken hurriedly.

It could also be that the channel is on it's way to be rebranded again maybe as a news channel which has been rumoured for sometime. Anyway only time will tell what the actual plans behind this channel are.

Why should you consider climbing Everest?
Each climber on Mount Everest has his/her specific motivations for climbing, but most would agree that there are many great reasons to climb it. Obviously, climbing to the highest point on Earth is an impressive accomplishment, and the highlight of many climbers’ careers. The views from the summit are unparalleled, the Nepali/Sherpa culture is amazing, and the Everest area is one of the most beautiful places on the planet. Above all, most climbers would agree that climbing Everest is the ultimate way to push their limits and test themselves in one of the most extreme places on the planet.

Is it worth to climb Everest Nepal? Why does it cost so much to climb Everest?
The vast majority of those who climb Everest would agree that it was worth their investment of time and money. Climbing Mount Everest in not cheap because of all the logistics involved in a 60 day expedition in Nepal. The climbing permit alone costs $11,000 per person. Even a small team climbing Everest requires huge support staff; leaders, Sherpa, cooks, and dozens of porters to carry thousands of pounds equipment to base camp. Additionally, outfitters must also buy insurance for the company and their staff, flights to Lukla, hundreds of meals for climbers and staff, and the world’s best climbing equipment.
