ABC preparing to resume transmissions?

In the light of recent political developments it seems highly likely that ABC Radio Network will commence transmissions soon. It has been reported that the employees have been asked to report for duty today.

All ABC channels are expected to start operations despite denials from certain individuals. We reiterate that the withdrawal of licenses to ABC was not required and it would have been sufficient to suspend news broadcasts over the network. However the manner in which the network would have it's license reinstated is even more controversial than the withdrawal. As expected if the license is reinstated then it would prove that the shutdown was politically motivated and had nothing to do with National Security issues.

If the license is reinstated the employees will be happy since they have their jobs back and the fans of ABC network also have their favourite radio stations back.

ABC should resume shortly! It's obvious isn't it? Why the f**k a looser like Duminda Silva would join the goverment otherwise?

who ever behind this as srilankans we have to pay for it..... Jayaweewaa

The Western Provincial Council is likely to face a crisis with the crossing over of UNP member Duminda Silva to the government, as the party is contemplating the withdrawal of its support for Chief Minister Reginald Cooray.

The Counci’s Opposition Leader, Kithsiri Kahatapitiya, told the Daily Mirror that his party would be compelled to rethink its political strategy in the WPC with the crossing over of Mr. Silva. He said Mr. Silva had not informed the party of his decision yet. Mr. Silva, who crossed over to the government yesterday, said he would obtain membership in the SLFP shortly. However Mr. Kahatapitiya said Mr. Silva had not yet submitted his resignation from the party.

Mr. Kahatapitiya said the UNP Political Affairs Committee was to discuss the issue and would inform the WPC members of its decision shortly. “We will make the final decision on the instructions of the Political Affairs Committee,” he said

The council would be in crisis if the UNP withdrew its support, as the opposition will have 64 seats, comprising the UNP ‘s 38 seats, the JVP’s 23 seats and one seat each of the DUA and WPF. The ruling party would be left with only 41 seats -- the SLFP’s 38 (including Mr. Silva’s) and four SLMC seats.

The UNP decided to back Chief Minister Cooray in a chaotic turn of evens following a no-confidence motion which led to the Chief Minister’s resignation. Mr. Cooray was sworn in as Chief Minister when the UNP decided to support him after bringing a no-confidence motion.

Well said anon (10.42AM)I am also having increased doubts abou this blog and who"s interest it is working.I am nor supporter of MR or the government, but it is clear that this blog works in the interest of UNP and the MTV network.

Sirasa is destroying the culture of this country and the admin of this blog is a helping in that mass destruction.
