Rupavahini get your priorities organised

We are receiving complaints from our readers that Rupavahini has to get it's priorities organised when it comes to telecasting programmes.

We are informed that Children's programmes are being telecast at 9:30PM and Sinhala & Hindi movies are being telecast during the daytime on Saturdays & Sundays.

We also happen to notice that Discovery Channel is being telecast over Channel Eye at 2:00PM (wonder for whom to watch, 0h maybe Ammi & Archi) and Discovery Channel over Rupavahini is being telecast after 10:00PM too (probably for Thathi and owls).

There is no point in them showing programmes like this, it is best for them to show Childrens Programmes on Saturdays and Sundays instead of Junk movies and please show Discovery Channel at times that Students can watch. Oh, another thing - what is the point in showing Discovery in Tamil with Sinhala subtitles. Show the programme in English since most Tamils know their English and then subtitle it in Sinhala if required, you ain't going to create racial harmony by showing Discovery in Tamil.

Please telecast the dubbed programmes over Rupavahini since you can make use of the Nicam Dual Language feature to broadcast the original language too. Make use of the technology available to you, do not waste it.

We urge the Rupavahini Corporation to make the necessary changes and get their priorities in the right order to make themselves a more pleasurable viewing experience.

WHY DON'T RUPAVAHINI RUN A FTA SATELLITE TRANSMISSION ON THE PAS 12 SATELLITE ??????

SO THIS COULD BE RECEIVED BY THE FTA RECEIVERS IN THE NORTH AND EAST. I THINK ITS CRUCIAL AT THIS TIME TO WIN THE HEARTS OF THE CIVILIANS LIVING IN THESE AREAS AND AT THE SAME TIME TO ENTERTAIN AND UPLIFT THE MORAL OF OUR SECURITY FORCES WHO IS THERE.

DEAR ADMIN ............

SHALL WE ASK FOR THAT TOO .......

Hey don't blame this to Only Rupavahini...

MTV Channel one also telecast cartoons and children movies after 10 PM

Most of our TV channels telecast movies with adult themes in day time.

This country is already turned upside down and no point of talking about this.

There are some teledramas too for more suitable for adults been telecast in day time or prime time. But they say it is for hole family because it doesn't have sex scenes.

These idiots think about sex scenes only and they think that our children don't understand the language and the themes.

Siyatha looks like a tv only for majority community of Sri Lanka. Thats why they omit Tamil language in their website.

NO POINT IN RUNNING RUPAVAHINI IN EDUSAT. NO BODY WILL HAVE THEIR DISHES TURN INTO THAT SATELLITE.

TO REACH THE AUDIENCE IN THE NORTH AND EAST YOU HAVE TO USE THE PAS 12 SATELLITE SO THAT THE PEOPLE WHO ALREADY HAVE THEIR DISHES AND FTA RECEIVERS POINTED TOWARDS PAS 12 TO WATCH THE LTTE CHANNEL WILL GET TO SEE THE STATE CHANNEL.

THIS WILL DEFINITELY BE A PLUS POINT FOR THE GOVERNMENT IF THEY REALLY WANT TO WIN THE HEARTS OF THE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN THOSE REMOTE AREAS WITHOUT ANY NEWS FROM THE SL GOVERNMENT.

Regarding the Discovery (on Rupavahini) and national Geographic programmes (On ITN), some of these programmes never reach the end. Last weekend, there was a National geographic programme on ITN about a killer whale (koki). The programme was abondened in the middle to show some properganda bullshit. So what is the purpose of showing a half of the documentry. Is it just to fill the time slot? I have experienced this several times, on both channels. We would like to see the whole documentry, not parts. Are these people (Rupavahini/ITN) out of their minds? Who they are trying to fool. The viewers or their bosses?
