It seems a new channel is testing from Independance Square. Rumors indicate that SLRC is going to split Channel Eye and Nethra into two seperate channels. The testing apparently taking place on UHF 52.

They Didnt Care About That.But When ITN Launch Prime Tv Then They Care About This Because This Should Don By SLRC Befor.Now SLRC Think That They Will Lost There English Vivers .So What They Did Was That Start a New Channel For English Speaking People
All The English Programs Will Go Under N TV. Nethra Will be Tamil And Eye Is Going To Be The SRiLanken First Sport Channel.

If any company going to Start English TV channel in Sri Lanka. They should use subtitles. Specially in movies.
Before CBNsat came, There were three private English TV channels in Sri Lanka. ETV, Art and Channel 1 MTV. but most of the viewers (Both Eng knowledge and low knowledge)stayed with channel 1 MTV. The reason was Good quality Movies with Sinhala Subtitles.

Shakthi Also did this. Those days Chitthi, Annamalei was the most rated tele series in Sri Lanka.
At that time there were no any sign of mega teledramas on Sri Lankan TV stations.

all the english channels cover only colombo & some r covering kandy, no island wide english service. hope Real tv will do it, but newly open channels and pending channels can do it?
i think tv2 also sold to itn, later we can see Prime tv on ch53&42. itn plan to take it from 4 o 5 month.
It was already given to ITN. Vasantham TV is on UHF 53.
Prime TV on channel 24. it is very clear in Ekala area
According to the new frequency list by TRC they didn't mentioned UHF frequencies that are in operation for VOA why is that?
They didn't mention the reserved UHF or FM frequencies as well so that means there will be a lot of reservation to some media by TRC.
Does anyone knows what's the situation of Swarnawahini? Who sold this channel?

My friend at TV2 confirmed that TV2, Radio1 and REadio2 all ware sold to ITN.. Many of employees worked in those channels were also "transferred" to ITN (specially their newly formed channels)...
Anyway TV2, from it's very first test transmutations, tried to carry high stranded television... so, sad to head it's death..
Now you can see TRYING TO DO TV and DOING TV is different !

But the billboards of TV2, Radio One and Radio2 are still hanging on the walls of their former headquarters located near Durdans Hospital car park. I could observe some people are keep looking on that billboards because some people have not seen TV2 even during their test transmission.

* They Cant Increase NTV Transmisson Because Rupavahini / NTV Have Not Facilities To Give Tower To Gampaha District
* NTV/ Rupavahini Would Not Like To Spend Their Bugget/Money
* Engineer Division Not Check Customer Request And Issues.
