Dan TV disturbing with NTV and Vasantham TV

According to reports reaching us, Dan TV transmissions are disturbing NTV and Vasantham TV on UHF. Several viewers are complaining of the disturbance and have informed the TRC too which is as usual not willing to take any action.

The disturbance of E FM transmission outside colombo was highlighted on this blog several months ago and a few days later TRC frequency monitoring vehicles were seen heading towards Negombo but no action has been taken to rectify the matter.

So the TRC seems powerless to monitor their own frequency allocation, which is a sad situation indeed.

We hope steps are taken to rectify these situations otherwise, we will have so many channels all disturbing each other so badly that no one will be able to enjoy these channels.

Dear Sam,
Any new news about ABC? About their future stratergies or expansion.
It seems that they are doing well and getting a good profit.

DAN TV will start on a new satellite in Europe (eurobird 9a) and another satellite in Asia.

But it is a waste of money to run DAN TV, because the programmes are bad and no quality at all... Waste of money and time!

Rsaika you're correct ABC now doing as NO 1 Radio Network in Sri lanka while Hiru, Sooriyan & Gold is No 1 FM's on their languages. They're making huge profit now.

I don't know how they're approaching future expansion but after the elections anything can happen and I hope they're waiting for election results.

According to my friends close to ABC said that they don't think about starting Sha or Sun again while too much radio stations now @ Sri lanka and They're planing to start 3 TV stations like VOA.

Vasantham TV slot is also telecasting ITN as the moment. But on Dialog TV, Vasantham TV is working.

Why is this?

Dear Vetti,
thanks for your comments. But if the plans of ABC is like that, I am sorry we have lost a good channel like SUN FM. It is great loss. Anyway VIS looks searching many frequencies, as i said in this blog still there are few frequencies available and if you have the political power, you can get the necessary space in the spectrum.
Again It seems like "KISS" is not doing well and it has not made a mark in the industry. If this trends continues, VOA will be in trouble before soon as all of their channels are making losses.

Actually, I don't know what is the purpose of telecasting DanTV in Sri Lanka by incurring money on it. Recently I could watch some programmes of it with "snowy" pictures and sounds. The transmission cannot be captured clearly even at Dehiwala, which is an area where all TV channels can be captured well without any problem. Also the quality of the programmes are extremely low when comparing with other Tamil TV channels.
