Reports are coming in that Max TV will relaunch in september & Max Radio will relaunch in october as total English language channels.
At present Max TV is telecasting Al Jazeera on it's frequencies and we expect it to retain Al Jazeera after the relaunch whilst telecasting other programming.
These reports are coming amidst reports that ITN is looking at moving Prime TV into a separate frequency & Prime Radio is planning on making a comeback. There is a chance that Prime TV and Radio may use the present Max TV & Radio frequencies to relaunch their respective channels, however this is cannot be confirmed.
It is highly likely that Max TV & Max Radio may launch a totally new TV & Radio station. We expect the channels to be rebranded.

According to my source, MAX will keep their original name for both TV & RADIO.
Max TV will use their existing frequencies, Currently Colombo ( Nugegoda ), Kandy ( Hanthana) & Galle ( Gongala ).
They will be the 1st ENGLISH TV station to have coverage down south.
A former head of marketing of another private TV channel now heads marketing @ Max and a former head @ ABC is the General Manager.

As admin mentioned PRIME TV will be moved to a separate freq. They are going islandwide, as they have obtained the rights for the AUS vs SL series. ( unofficially confirmed).
MAHEN TV IN INDIA is also testing....
I think ITN is notloking for max tv's frequencies but looking for VIS frequences...
