Hi all! It is your favourite blogger here again. First of all let me wish all of a Happy & Prosperous New Year 2006. You can be assured that we will keep you updated on the happenings in the Sri Lankan TV & Radio Industry throughout this year.
Well it is 2006 and the wonder of all wonders has happened. Whoever expected the National TV station Rupavahini and it's sister counterpart Channel Eye to hop aboard CBNSat so soon. Frankly none of us here expected it, we expected them to be last. But hats off to SLRC as this is a step in the right direction and this leaves only Maharaja's Sirasa TV, Shakthi TV, Channel One MTV then E.A.P's Swarnavahini & ETV as well as I.W.S Holdings Art TV and sattelite broadcaster TV Lanka to join in. Now I cannot think of why these stations which call themselves trendsetters in the broadcasting arena in Sri Lanka keep away from digital technology. Hopefully these remaining stations and their sister radio stations also join in very soon.
