I Like To Wish All Of You A Peace Full And Happiness NewYear 2010 !!!
1st to launch in 2010 is Eng Radio Channel on fm 97 (Colombo)
be cool....
this frequency has been allocated to Sath FM. that means it is owned by Satnet????????
SLBC(ES) has been renamed RADIO SRI LANKA!!!
Good luck for who ever comes on 97 FM from Colombo.
97 is already operational from Nuwara Eliya by SLBC.
Why these mad people cant understand basic radio technology before they go put up a transmitter on top of a building.
Further, 97 is alloacted to satnet from magalkanda on low power regional based. They cannot operate it from colombo
Nik,
you are exactly correct. the same problem now there on 93.3Mhz since these frequency is allocated to both SLBC commercial service and Lak FM from Colombo and Nuwaraeliya
There is another news that SLBC is going to close their Radella transmitting station and there are going to set up new high power transmitting station in Pidurutalagala
Vasantham TV now on UHF 25 from Jaffna.
Vasantham FM on FM 97 from Jaffna
Interesting story about TRC, In Jaffna, Shakthi Tv sister TV of Sirasa operating on UHF 25 from 2002, suddenly TRC gave this frequency to ITN, now both are operating both cann't be viewed.
http://www.dailymirror.lk/index.php/news/698-shakthi-challenges-shut-down-order.html
I just heard the Shakthi TV story on YES FM news...coward work by the TRC as always. Now the election is just around the corner, the government is trying to prevent all independent news and content from reaching Jaffna & the North. That's why they have given the frequency to the state run tamil channel 'Vasantham TV'. So people there only get to see one side of the story (probably government's propaganda material...)
ITN is on a hunting spree...First People's Media Netowrk/Radio 1 and now MBC. More to come...
Sad story for north people. Now, they can't watch No.1 local tamil Tv channel Shakthi TV. From 2003 onwards, they were watching Shakthi TV.
Now, all of sudden, TRC asked Shakthi TV to stop telecast for the north and given the same frequency to the Vasantham Tv (most of the tamil they do not watch this channel even in Colombo).
Guys, lets make a public appeal to TRC to continue Shakthi on UHF 25 and give new ch to ITN.
Air waves are public property and if any service carried on of some frequency for more than 1 year, they have right to remain on that.
ITN should immediately sieze transmission on UHF 25.
Newest Radio Station HITZ FM to beging from 1st FEB on 97.0.
Its owned by Lakshman Hulugalle
( SATH FM )
The office will be at location behind MTV/MBC, braybrooke place.
They are installing a high power relay station on top of JAIC Hilton.
97 is operational by SLBC from Nuwara Eliya. Sath FM cant operate it from colombo.
They havent been given permission to do that so either.
Why only Shakithi TV has been shutted down saying illegal frequency. Why not 97 FM from colombo ?
HITZ FM - 97FM Colombo

:)
Guys I Want Know Some Thing . As We Know Now There Is No More Radio 1 , Radio 2 And Tv 2 . But Today I Just Check The Web Sits Of Those Channels ,Radio One Web Site Is No More. The Thing Is That Tv2 And Radio 2 web Site Are There .Is That Means These Channels Will Come Back Again
Hitz Web Cast Now On Air .
Fm 97 - Colombo , Kandy ,Down South
The Web Cast Is Only On www.hitzlk.com
What Is The Website Of Hit Fm ?
1 WWW.hitz.lk
2 WWW.hitzlk.com
Because Two Website For One Channel
HITZ 97FM VideoCast
http://www.ustream.tv/channel/hitz-fm-97-from-colombo
SLBC has given green signal to use the 97Mhz band frequency to Hitz FM which is owned by Lakshman Hulugalle. Other than that SLBC has started using same frequency from Matale (karagahatenna) to broadcast Pirai FM to North & East.
Has TNL got permission/license to operate all these frequencies ????
Colombo - 93.9
Piliyandala - 88.1
Kandy - 93.7
Nuwara Eliya - 88
Ratnapura - 97.2
Badulla - 89
Deniyaya - 89
Karagahatenna - 89
Radio 1 website has been changed since there was a station to take its place. Just cause the other websites (Radio 2/TV 2) are there, doesn't mean it will be opened or those stations will come back. ITN bought all the frequencies, but those are on stand by till they need to us them for other purposes. There is no use taking off the website, when it can just be edited when needed.
Nik,
It is really a question because TNL has got permission only to operate 89Mhz from Nuwaraeliya but they are using it from Karagahatenna, Deniyaya & Badulla.
Also with out any permission they have changed their Piliyandala frequency to 88.1Mhz (from 88Mhz). what they are telling is that 87.8Mhz (Real radio) is disturbing their 88Mhz frequency. Also they can,t use 88Mhz from Nuwaraeliya. Other frequencies are OK.
Is Hitz Fm On Testing ? I Cant Get Any Thing From Fm 97 .
But I Tuned To My Car Radio There Are Songs Playing On Fm 97 But Not Clear
Wasantham Tv Has Improve There Signel Strength On VHF Channel 9 . First Of All Wasantham Tv Launch On VHF Channel 9 And Then They Moove The Tv Channel To UHF Channel 53 Few Months A Go. Now They Have Again Active VHF Channel 9 With Better Quality.
Those Days When Wasantham TV Launch I Coudnt See Any Thing But After They Moove To UHF Channel 53 It Was Bit Better. But Now It Was Cristaly Clear On VHF Channel 9.
Now The Thing Is Prime Tv Is Also Not Clear ( Cant See Any Thing )
I Hope They Will Do Some Thing.
According to latest trc FM frequency list they mentioned 93.4 is on operation for ABC networks. But i don't know which station running from 93.4 ??????
Also they didn't mention about the UHF frequencies of Voice Of Asia which are currently on operation. Why is that?
I Want To Know Some Thing . Long Time A Go Fm Mention That Thilanga Sumathipala Got A Licence And He Mention The Frequency Is 91.6 Fm .
But The Thing Is Thus New Channel Is Not Sumathi Fm Its New One
As We Know This Lakviru Radio And Television Network Is To Be Started From Gongala The Frequency Of The Channel Was 107 Fm .
Now These People Are The One Who Was Operating From Colombo
Lakviru Radio and Television Network (Private) Limited Colombo91.6 OPERATIONAL
What is This
Dialog Television (Pvt) Ltd Colomb9 UHF 50 OPERATIONAL
That is the DTT trail carried out by Dialog on UHF 50.
After the election, Gotabaya has blamed Priyantha Kariyapperumea (DG - TRC) for helping SF in the election and the latter has given his resignation to the President. It is really ashamed that after taking all the frequencies (even from ABC) they have helped SF during the election. You can see the news in most of the Sunday sinhala news paper's political columns.
Still SLBC Tamil National Service is not available in the Northern part of Sri Lanka, war ended 1 year back, as they are saying responsible state media, there is no action to broadcast Tamil National Service in Jaffna
Is HITZ Fm Is Active Kandy Frequency ?
Because When HITZ Fm Started There Testing I Couldnt Get It Not Clear And Disturb By Hiru Fm .But From Few A Days Back It Was Clear Can Listen.
Knight Rider new series starting on Siyatha TV from today
TNL TV Has Stop Airing The Buddhist TV And Now They Are Doing There Own Channel Called (TNL Buddhist) .This Channel Was On TNL TV.
DAN TV disturbing NTV and Vasantham TV in UHF. I informed to TRC, there is no response, Can any body inform to relavant parties to solve this issuse?

There is a news about a new DTH platform in Sri Lanka in MPEG 4. Is this true ? does any one has more info ?
If this true, Dialog TV will have a good competition as they still with good old technology and the who ever comes with latest technology will have more and more services to offer at very cheap price.
