Comet Cable to go Digital

Comet Cable Sri Lanka's first Cable TV Operator which uses wireless technology is about to commence Digital broadcasts that will give them a greater capacity of channels. After the digitization is completed they will be able to carry over 60 channels [actual figures are yet to be confirmed] and the expansion will be in several phases. This digitisation plan is mentioned on Comet Cable's web site but sadly it has been around for a few months now and when an inquiry is made they say it is on hold yet. We hope this becomes a reality very soon.

Since Comet Cable's Analog System is not very much affordable to the common man we hope that their digital broadcasts will at least be more affordable and not priced for the upper class only. Hope that the authorities at Comet Cable will be able able to shed more light on this issue. Be sure that this blog will keep you updated as things unravel on the broadcasting arena.
