Rupavahini to go Digital

Great News Rupavahini is going Digital. A recent report on Wired which is shown every first sunday on ETV carried a report that Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation is going Digital. They expect to carry out digital transmission by the end of this year. User's will have to make use of a Set Top Box which will enable them to receive these transmission's. TV's enabled with digital receptions will not require the Set Top Box. Rupavahini Authorities I hope will give us more information using this Blog.

The question is what are the other TV Station's doing like the mighty corporate hands of the Maharaja's and the E.A.P Edirisinghe's.

The Government should draft up a plan to phase out Analog Transmission as it is happening in the rest of the world. It should be easier as in Sri Lanka there are comparatively fewer TV Stations compared to other countries and it should be done soon wihtout any political wrangling.
