Over the last few days a new television was spotted on UHF 30 broadcasting on an on & off basis carrying Chinese programming. According to reports reaching us as of last night this channel has been broadcasting uninterrupted. the channel is said to relaying CCTV 9 programming. CCTV 9 is presently available in Sri Lanka via a few pay television operators.

The channel has been viewed clearly in and around colombo & its suburbs but we are not sure of the coverage out of the suburban region.

The test transmission is crystal clear in Dehiwala area. I could observe some new UHF boosters (red & white colour)fixed top of the UDA Tower Building at Bambalapitiya, so this test transmission should be transmitting from that site.

This channel currently broadcast CCTV9, but PrimeTV (Formally TV2)is transmitting CCTV4.

This TV channel is running by VIS Broadcasting Pvt Ltd, who are the operators of Youth Radio and Your Radio in Sri Lanka. I am sure about it because, today I saw a big billboard fixed at the Royal College junction adjourning to the Flower Road.
