Setanta Sports Asia has entered the Sri Lankan market via LBN cable TV with some exclusive Rugby content. In a country where Rugby is closely followed it is a real treat to have this channel. Due to the popularity of Rugby in the country a channel the sports channel Setanta Sports Asia has been well received.
Many of the major sports network in this region which are India centric have been focusing on cricket very heavily which is good for all fans of cricket but Setanta have decided to focus on Rugby and this is indeed good news for all Rugby fans in the island. Sadly Setanta is only available on LBN which is limited in coverage and the big shot pay television operators such as Dialog & PEO TV have failed in acquiring the rights to broadcast this channel so far. However Setanta has expressed interest in expanding to Sri Lanka and we hope the pay operators are able to introduce the channel within a short period of time.

So LBN has done it again....Provided the first Exclusive Rugby channel in Sri Lanka while the supposed to be big time operators watch and follow
Why dialog tv blocks Channel Eye for Worldcup matches? Those who don't have Star Cricket how are they going to watch? They want to suscribe this? Can Dialog Solve this problem?
Isura (96.4MHz Colombo) a channel owned by Ruresh networks has been bought by MBC (Capital Maharaja)
Now MTV/MBC is far bigger than other chinthanayata kade yana Lilliputs (ABC/ EAP)
Now MBC owns 3-TV Chs, 5-FM Ch's
FM derana is on 94.5mhz in kurunegala area. Is it from Magalkanda? It was supposed to use 94.7Mhz for Magalakanda. Any news??
Derana is expanding their coverage well. Because the 94.5mhz that we hear in Kurunegala is transmitting from Polgahawela (Yogamuwakanda) and they are now on 99.2Mhz in Ratnapura. Also they are transmitting on 94.7Mhz from Magalkanda for a limited area not like SUN, Neth & Shree
