TV Lanka DVB-T pay television service... illegal

The guys who brought you "Kangaroo Courts" back in 2006, who were were instrumental in shutting CBNsat (now known as Dialog TV) & LBN claiming that they are the only licensed operator for pay television services in Sri Lanka seem to be carrying out an illegal operation of their pay television DVT-T service.

According to information reaching us, they have not signed up with many of the channels they rebroadcast and are using Videocon DTH service decoders in Sri Lanka to illegally downlink them and retransmit. Neither do they have the license to carry out a DVB-T pay television service.

It's a fact that TV Lanka Satellite channels broadcasting overseas are deemed the worst by the Sri Lankans living overseas & failed to secure a license to operate a cellular service by partnering with Anil Ambani's Reliance Mobile services. Now they seem to be out to rob the people's money and are make a quick buck.

The service is so ill planned that TV Lanka have opted to broadcast the HD feed in SD just to attract and hoodwink prospective subscribers.

We urge the authorities concerned to take string action against these crooks who once tried to destroy the very industry that they are have now entered into illegally.

Sirasa begging for pay television carriage

Local FTA television channels Sirasa TV, MTV Sports then known as Channel One MTV & Shakthi TV owned by the Capital Maharaja group that proudly proclaimed over the newspapers barring any pay television company from carrying any of their three channels & also in an interview scoffed at the idea of pay television in Sri Lanka and claiming that the business will never be successful in Sri Lanka are now begging for space on the pay television providers.

After successfully begging themselves onto PEO TV now the Capital Maharaja's are begging to be on Dialog TV. Comments are appearing on this blog requesting for Sirasa TV although some of them are genuine users, most of them seem to be an organised attempt by the Maharaja's to give a false impression that Sirasa is the most wanted channel on pay television plus the Blogger ID's that are requesting Sirasa have been created as recently as Jul/Aug 2012.

So it seems that the Capital Maharaja's have had to eat their own words and have taken begging to a whole new level & are now the new "Superstar's of Begging".

"Max Television" Blockbusters

It should be noted & appreciated that local English Language FTA channel Max Television has been premiering movies faster than certain Indian pay English movies channels available in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka FTA channels had previously been telecasting movies that are considerably old but Max has made a difference and is telecasting much newer movies. One example is the movie Real Steel which was due to premiere on a Saturday night on Star Movies India but Max Television premiered the movie a couple of days prior.

This is really good & we hope the other local FTA channels take note and start premiering movies and television serials much faster within Sri Lanka for the benefit of the people who rely on FTA television for their entertainment purposes. Sri Lankan FTA English channels are capable of running television serials on the same day they are premiered in the UK/US, we hope to see this style in the near future.
